Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are on their way to a third straight playoff appearance, despite a lopsided loss to the Washington Mystics on Sunday. Washington built a 51-30 halftime lead and stretched it to 26 points before the final buzzer.
Clark still finished with 25 points, though she shot just 6-for-20 from the field and committed five turnovers. The shooting slump hasn’t dented her season. Clark is averaging 22.7 points, third-best in the WNBA, 8.4 assists, tied for the league lead, and 3.9 rebounds, while shooting 45.1% from the field, 36.8% from three and 84.8% at the free-throw line.
Indiana has two games left, both against the Minnesota Lynx, the league’s top team. The Fever sit fifth and would open the playoffs on the road unless they sweep Minnesota and get help elsewhere, since only the top four seeds earn home-court advantage.

This week, though, Clark’s biggest storyline has come with the Fever guard’s first signature sneaker, the Nike Caitlin 1, which releases globally Oct. 1 for $140, alongside an 18-piece apparel collection.
One colorway already reached Kansas City ahead of launch. The “Sea of Red” edition, built around the Chiefs’ colors, made its way to head coach Andy Reid, who became the first person to get his hands on the new pair.
“I got my new ‘Sea of Red’ Caitlin 1s right here, especially from Caitlin Clark, man,” Reid said in a clip posted by the Chiefs. “I appreciate you, girl. All the ladies of the WNBA, you guys are unbelievable, man. Keep cranking. Love watching you, Caitlin. I love the color, man. Look at these things. It’s the same color you wear, and here we are, Chiefs. Love it, baby.”
Clark also responded on her Instagram Story with “LETS GOOOOO ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
The shoe itself carries a red-and-gold gradient upper, her “CC” logo and triple Swooshes done in metallic silver, a gold No. 22 stitched into the laces and a matching gold outsole.
The Fever host the Lynx Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis before closing out the regular season Thursday, on the road against Minnesota.
