Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark expressed her appreciation to Toronto fans for showing out in her first game on Canadian soil.
The Toronto Tempo are the WNBA’s first international expansion team. They are currently playing in their inaugural season, along with the Portland Fire.
One of the team’s most highly anticipated games of the season was against Clark and the Fever. On Tuesday, Clark and Co. finally played their first game in Canada, and she was overwhelmed by the support from fans who made an enormous effort to see her.
The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year discussed this development during her pre-game media availability.
“It’s really cool that people are waiting two and a half hours before,” Clark said. “I don’t know if I would ever do that, but I really appreciate their support.”
Indiana went on to secure the 101-95 win at the Scotiabank Arena, extending its win streak to five and improving to 24-12 on the season.

Clark also acknowledged that the warm welcome and support she received from the fans gave her extra motivation to perform well during the game.
“That’s a really cool thing,” Clark continued. “It just shows how much this one opportunity means to people to be able to see a player that they probably watch on TV a lot and experience a moment that they’ve felt through the TV screen or seen online.
“And I think that’s a really cool thing, so I’m just super excited that I get to play tonight.”
The three-time WNBA All-Star finished with 24 points, three rebounds and seven assists to once again help lead Indiana to another victory.
Her backcourt partner, Kelsey Mitchell, produced the game-high 29 points with three boards and two dimes.
