Team USA superstars Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers were having fun during their pregame warm-up against Italy.
Clark and Bueckers are fierce competitors in the WNBA as two of the top young superstars in the league.
They have taken similar paths to the WNBA. Both of them were drafted first overall in their respective draft classes. Clark and Bueckers also both won WNBA Rookie of the Year honors.
But they were called up for national team duty for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin, Germany. Ahead of their second game of the tournament, the two playmakers shared a fun exchange on the court.
They were seen warming up and doing pregame drills while laughing together in front of the scorers’ table. The brief clip has since gone viral on social media, amassing close to 400,000 views, as of this writing.
Team USA, however, was given a proper scare by the Italians on Sunday. Clark, Bueckers and Co. held on, though, escaping with a 55-52 victory.
Clark was limited to one point and went 0-for-6 shooting from the field, including a 0-for-3 shooting from beyond the arc in 18 minutes. Despite not converting a single field goal, she contributed four boards, one dime and a steal.
Meanwhile, Bueckers scored seven points to go along with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.
Team USA, which has already booked a spot in the quarterfinals after winning its first two games, will close out the group phase with a matchup against a 0-2 Czech Republic side on Monday.
