Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever eyed a fourth consecutive win on Sunday night as they hit the road to face Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream. Both teams entered the game on a winning streak, with the Fever most recently taking down the Dallas Wings on Friday, and the Dream beating the Connecticut Sun on Thursday.
Clark and Reese's rivalry began in college with the Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers, respectively, where the Dream forward held a 4-1 edge over the Fever guard. However, since they entered the WNBA in 2024, Clark has gotten the better of Reese, posting a 5-3 record through their first eight matchups.
And things got a little chippy between the two stars early on in the game.

With 4:10 remaining in the first quarter, Dream guard Rhyne Howard attempted a 24-foot 3-pointer before the ball bounced off the rim and out of bounds. But as the shot went up, both Clark and Reese were going for the rebound before the Atlanta star accidentally put her forearm into Clark's neck, giving the Fever guard a slight shove.
As Reese sprinted toward the baseline in an attempt to save the ball from going out of bounds, Clark immediately turned to the nearby official, appearing to argue that Reese had committed a foul. After Indiana called a timeout, Clark walked toward another official and gestured that Reese had hit her in the neck area.
However, despite appealing for a foul, Clark did not get the call. The Fever star also seemed to ask the officials to review the play, but they chose not to.
Sunday's game marked the final of four meetings of the season between Clark and Reese, at least until the playoffs. Up next for the Fever, the second game of a five-game road trip, facing the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
