Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark had a heartwarming moment with a U.S. Marine during Team USA’s practice on Saturday.
Clark, who led the USA to a 94-61 victory over China in the FIBA World Cup just a day before, met several members of the U.S. Marine Corps based in Berlin along with the rest of the national team.
The Marines interacted with the players and coaching staff, engaging in conversations, posing for photos and even shooting the ball with them. The Marines also got to huddle with the players.
One moment that stood out, however, was Clark’s interaction with a Marine who was apparently from Jefferson, Iowa. The aforementioned Marine shook hands with the Fever guard and asked her if she could sign his Iowa Hawkeyes flag.

The Marine also asked if he could take a photo with Clark so he could show it to his mother. Clark granted his request, even kneeling on the court to get the flag signed.
The exchange between Clark and the Marine drew plenty of attention, with many showing appreciation for Clark for her gesture.
“CC is a great human being. She literally got down on her knees to sign his flag,” a fan wrote on YouTube. Another supporter shared, “Love her signing the banner.”
“Caitlin is awesome,” a viewer added.
“The greatest human ever. I love her bad. Iowa nice to it,” a poster wrote on X.
A follower stated, “Love this.”
A sixth social media user noted, “CC is a hero to all.”
