Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark discussed how competitive their rivalry with the Atlanta Dream is.
The Fever began their five-game road trip on Sunday when they visited the Dream at State Farm Arena, and eked out a 95-91 victory.
Clark once again orchestrated Indiana’s offense and finished the game with 26 points and nine assists. The win also improved Clark’s record against rival Angel Reese to 6-2 in their head-to-head matchups in the WNBA. The Dream star finished with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds with six assists.
Clark was asked during her postgame interview about the rivalry between Indiana and Atlanta.
“I mean, I think there’s great competition across the league,” Clark said. “I think, obviously, they’re a very talented team. I feel like every matchup we’ve had this year has been really close, and it’s been a battle.”

The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year praised Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray for what they bring to the table for Atlanta.
“They’re well coached," Clark continued. "They do a lot of great things, obviously. Rhyne and Gray, they’re two of the best guards in the league. And obviously, with Rhyne’s size, it poses a lot of problems with just her length.”
“So this is a team that will be scary in the playoffs. They’re great at what they do. They have a lot of different weapons.”
Finally, Clark discussed that these types of games are the ones she’s looking forward to because they gauge the team’s progress and sharpen them as a unit.
“But I think for us, like these are the games you get up for," she said. "That’s what’s fun about competition. You want to play the best, it brings out the best in you. And I thought we stepped up to the challenge and we’re really good tonight.”
The Fever tied their season record with the Dream after Sunday's win to 2-2. This was their last matchup this season, unless they get to face off in the playoffs.
Clark and Co. will now head to the Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday to take on the Toronto Tempo.
