Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has nothing but high praise for teammate Kelsey Mitchell despite the team's loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday.
The Lynx defeated the Fever 108-100, with Olivia Miles scoring 28 points on 11-of-14 shooting. Despite the loss, Mitchell impressed with a game-high 37 points on 14-of-21 shooting.
Mitchell also went 6-of-8 from deep, while adding three assists and one steal.
With her performance, Mitchell made history by breaking her tie with Diana Taurasi for the second-longest 20-point streak in WNBA history. It was her 14th consecutive 20-point performance, trailing only A'ja Wilson (20).
In the Fever's postgame press conference, Clark was asked to comment on Mitchell's historic scoring run. The Indiana playmaker didn't hesitate to give her backcourt partner the ultimate compliment.

"Over 20-plus? It's like 30-plus," Clark said with a smile. "It's really fun and, obviously, it makes my life easy. So, I just try to give her the rock."
She added, "[It] feels like every time she shoots it, it goes in. And just the pace that she plays with, she always puts the defense under stress. Like, it's really fun to witness up close. She's a hooper and she carries herself in the most professional manner. So, it's really fun for me to see and get to be her teammate."
Clark also made a rather strong prediction about Mitchell, claiming that she will set a new career-high soon. Mitchell's highest scoring production in a game is 38 points, which she has reached twice, in 2019 and 2025.
"She always has her foot on the gas," Clark added. "So, expect 40 soon, too."
Considering Mitchell's offensive efficiency — she is averaging roughly 50% shooting — it's not hard to see her reaching the 40-point mark.
The Fever have games against the New York Liberty on Aug. 11 and the Toronto Tempo on Aug. 18. Both teams are in the bottom five in defensive rating in the WNBA, so those matchups could provide an opportunity for Mitchell to reach the mark. The Tempo, in particular, are the worst defensive team in the league.
