Caitlin Clark Had Ruthless Quote After Doing Something No WNBA Player Ever Has

Caitlin Clark didn't just lead the Indiana Fever to victory on Friday night, she did something no WNBA player has ever accomplished.

The former No. 1 pick from Iowa was sensational against the Seattle Storm, finishing the night with 45 points and 10 assists. Clark is the first player in WNBA history to record that stat line. She sent the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse into a frenzy when she knocked down a 3-pointer with 38.1 seconds remaining to give the Fever a 105-102 lead.

"Some nights, like, you know you have it - even before the ball tips," Clark said after the game. "I felt like it was going to be one of those for me. I feel like you just have to believe you're going to have those type of nights, and you have to visualize having those types of nights. And I feel like that's what I did."

What made Clark's 45-point performance so special was that she only played 29 minutes on Friday night.

When asked about her historic performance, Clark revealed that she's more concerned about the Fever stacking up wins.

"I mean, it's cool. I don't really care," Clark said. "I know what I'm capable of, and I know what this team is capable of. It's my job to help us win and be the best team in the WNBA, and I don't think we're there yet. So it's my responsibility to help us get there."

She's not done yet.

While last night's version of Clark was truly incredible, she claims she can be even better for the Fever.

"I still feel like I can play better," Clark said. "It's one of the hardest things, coming back from injury and being out of the groove and having time off. You just have to kind of continue to believe in yourself and believe in the work you put in. This is great, but we have another really difficult test tomorrow, so got to get ready for that."

The Fever will return to action this Saturday evening to face the New York Liberty.
