Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark gave Marina Mabrey her flowers amid the Toronto Tempo star’s career year.
The Fever traveled to Canada for the first time to face the Tempo on Tuesday inside Scotiabank Arena.
Prior to the game, Indiana guard Clark was asked about her thoughts on Mabrey, and the Fever star had nothing but good things to say.
“Obviously, Marina’s having the best year of her career, and I think everybody across the league knows how talented and how gifted she is,” Clark said. “So, it’s been kind of fun to watch her from afar, like just kind of unleash that in a way.”
Mabrey has been the leading scorer for the Tempo this season with 20.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 0.9 steals in 32 games.

Clark also discussed how Mabrey has fully embraced her status as one of the league’s stars through steady production.
“She’s had plenty of moments through her career where she has done that,” Clark continued. “But for her to do that consistently at this level, I think, is really incredible.”
Mabrey got into a heated moment with Kelsey Mitchell in the third quarter of the game. The two stars got into it after a physical play.
Mitchell nudged Mabrey and pointed a finger at her face as the Fever star had words for the latter. Both players were assessed with technical fouls.
Clark and Mabrey also have history. Mabrey was hit with a technical foul for pushing Clark to the ground last season during a game between the Connecticut Sun and the Fever. Mabrey, who was still with the Sun at that time, saw her tech upgraded to a Flagrant 2 foul after the game.
The Fever ultimately secured a 101-95 win, extending their current win streak to five. They improved to 24-12 on the season.
