Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever often rewrite the WNBA history books with their performances. They were once again part of a feat achieved during their loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday. However, it was for an unwanted record.

Chelsea Gray forced overtime with a buzzer-beating three-pointer, tying the score at 75-75. She again played the hero role in the extra period by knocking down a triple at the buzzer to secure the 86-84 win.

The veteran guard finished with 11 points and seven rebounds. Gray etched her name in the record books by becoming the first player in league history to achieve the feat in the same game.

According to ESPN's Alexa Philippou, Gray is the first player in WNBA history to score a game-tying buzzer-beater at the end of regulation and a game-winning buzzer-beater at the end of ovetime in the same contest.

Gray's performance backed A'ja Wilson's team-high 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Jackie Young supplied 22 points and nine assists. NaLyssa Smith contributed 14 points and nine boards. The win marked Las Vegas' second consecutive victory and its fourth in its last five outings.

Clark, on the other hand, registered 20 points, three rebounds and eight assists. However, she struggled with her shot from the field, converting just seven of her 20 attempts. The three-time All-Star made only 2-of-10 from beyond the arc.

She also uncharacteristically missed two free throws in regulation and committed a turnover late in overtime. Some have blamed her for the loss as she had two chances to secure a win.

Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana's attack with a game-high 28 points, and Aliyah Boston produced a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double.

Clark and the Fever have the opportunity to end their two-game losing skid with a win over the Chicago Sky on Saturday. They stand at 19-12 for the season and remain in a good position ahead of the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Aces will also play their next game on Saturday when they take on the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center.
