The Indiana Fever had been playing really good basketball as of late, but Saturday’s performance was a frustrating one.
The Fever fell to the New York Liberty, 109-102, on Saturday evening. The Fever had some chances late to make it a game and perhaps pull out a victory, but they couldn’t get the job done.
Immediately following the game, Fever fans expressed frustration with head coach Stephanie White, who appeared to be quite hard on star point guard Caitlin Clark and her performance.
Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, had 21 points, seven assists and four rebounds in the game. However, White was frustrated with some of her decision making late in the contest. She subbed her out in some key moments.
White has done a good job throughout most of the season. However, Clark’s fan base has been extremely critical of her.
Some of Clark’s fans are pushing for her firing on Sunday.
Clark fans want Stephanie White ousted
“Stephanie White likes to punish her superstar as a way of coaching and hurt her confidence. You can see how much she second guesses herself #FireStephanieWhite,” one fan wrote.
“This is what being too nice for your own good looks like. The best decision she could make for herself is forcing Steph White out or threatening to leave but she is a professional and would never,” one fan added.
“Stephanie White has to go. This Kelsey centric offense may be good for KMs stats but it’s not winning basketball. She’s so frustrating. We’ve all seen what works. And what works still gets Kelsey fed. But she just keeps reverting back to the same old stuff she always does,” one fan added.
“Stephanie White does not want Caitlin to actually play basketball…,” one fan added.
