A couple of years ago, WNBA star Brittney Griner claimed that she could beat then-NBA big man DeMarcus Cousins in a game of 1-on-1.
"I would love to just go out there and play against [Cousins]," said Griner "We talk a lot of crap to each other. I love talking to him. He's really funny. I would love to just go out there and play against him."
Cousins, meanwhile, was ready for action.
"Whenever you're ready to get it on camera and see her get embarrassed, I'm ready for it," Cousins said in response.
"It's almost like we're the same person. As soon as I walk in the door, she's at me. She says I'm a bum. She says she'll kick my butt. It's all in fun. She's an incredible competitor. She's an incredible player. It's fun to be around the ladies and get to know them."
The matchup never happened, at least to public knowledge.

But there's been some debating since.
Obviously, in the wake of Sophie Cunningham's comments on transgender athletes in women's sports, everyone has decided to pick sides.
Caitlin Clark, arguably the most popular female athlete in sports right now, decided to end the debate with her own admission.
Clark says she would get 'killed' by any NBA player
Clark was asked by ESPN's Malika Andrews who she would like to play in a game of 1-on-1. Andrews said Clark could pick anyone from the NBA or WNBA, past or present.
“Well, like I would get killed by every NBA player, but like Steph Curry,” Clark said.
WNBA star Kelsey Plum, meanwhile, agrees.
“Not even someone from the bench,” Plum said. “You have to understand, if we’re doing shooting workouts, skill workouts, I’m very confident in anyone that you put in front of me that I can compete. Just sheer size, athleticism, that’s the problem. Maybe I can score, but who am I gonna defend?”
Fans appreciate the honesty, at least.
