Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is officially back to the USA national team.
After earning MVP honors during the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico in March, Clark continued to prove during 2026 WNBA season that she's one of the best women's basketball players today.
Clark is averaging 21.5 points and 8.0 assists with the Fever this season, earning her another All-Star berth and putting her in the MVP conversation. She's third in the league in scoring and second in assists.
As a result, USA Basketball picked her to be part of the national team roster that will represent the nation in the upcoming FIBA Women's World Cup in Germany, which begins in September.
Clark was named to the 12-woman squad, which also includes her Fever teammate Aliyah Boston. Other players on the USA national team are A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Kahleah Copper, Rhyne Howard, Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese.

On Thursday, before the Fever played the Las Vegas Aces, Clark was naturally asked about her selection. The All-Star playmaker didn't hide her delight, while also expressing her excitement about playing alongside the other top stars in the WNBA.
"Yeah, obviously really exciting," Clark said when asked what it means to her to be part of the Team USA roster. "Anytime you wear USA across your chest, it's tremendous honor. And to be surrounded by so many great players, some of which have already won Olympic gold medals, some have been on the World Cup team before. Obviously I get to share it with AB, too, so it's pretty cool and pretty fun."
Clark admitted that she still cannot focus too much on the Team USA news since the Fever are still in the middle of the WNBA season, competing for a playoff spot. She noted that it will be a "challenging month" since they will "play a lot of really good teams."
That being said, Clark shared that she is taking it one day at a time. Regardless, she emphasized that being part of Team USA is a "big honor" and that she's "really excited" to represent the nation.
The FIBA Women's World Cup will kick off on Sept. 4, with Team USA facing China first before games against Italy and Czechia in the group stage. The tournament will run until Sept. 13.
