Unfortunately for the Indiana Fever, they could be on the verge of losing Caitlin Clark to a one-game suspension.
A few weeks ago, Clark received a technical foul for a disagreement with Connecticut Sun guard Saniya Rivers. That marked her seventh technical of the year, which is a big deal considering her eighth tech will trigger a league-mandated suspension.
“She said she was locking me up, so I said, ‘Scoreboard,’ and the ref didn’t like that,” Clark told reporters, via ESPN. “I’m never going to back down. I think just continue to try to control your emotions the best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me me, but also knowing my team needs me and finding a good balance of that. But I don’t think I’m going to be playing with that in the back of my head.”

Well, Clark received her eighth technical of the season during Saturday's game against the Chicago Sky.
At first, people assumed Clark said something to the official as she was being guarded closely by the Sky. However, she made it known that wasn't the case at all.
"I didn't do anything," Clark told ESPN's commentary crew. "I didn't even say anything."
Fever fans aren't happy.
As you'd expect, Indiana fans aren't thrilled that Clark could be facing a suspension.
"One of the SOFTEST tech’s I’ve seen in a while," one fan declared.
"And she got fouled on the drive," a second fan wrote. "These refs are crazy."
"Pretty sure they called it for contact with the ref but it wasn't intentional. She was stumbling and bumped into her. That's ridiculous," another fan said.
We'll see if the WNBA rescinds this technical foul and allows Clark to keep playing.
