Caitlin Clark Applauded For $2,000 Donation To Late Indiana Fever Fan

That's a classy gesture from Caitlin.

Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark won’t be in action until Saturday, but she’s making headlines for a good reason this Friday.

WNBA fans noticed that Clark donated $2,000 to the family of Jessica Schoffel, a Fever fan who recently passed away. A GoFundMe account was created for Schoffel, with the money being used to donate a buddy bench to the Trumansburg Playground.

“Jessica Schoffel (October 8, 1981 – July 17, 2026) of Acton, MA grew up in Trumansburg, graduated from Charles O. Dickerson High School in 1999 and was a beloved elementary school teacher in Littleton, MA. As a kindergarten student, she joined her parents, Linda and Rob, in the original Trumansburg Community Playground build,” the fundraiser reads. “In memory of Jessica, we will donate buddy bench(s) to the Trumansburg Playground. A buddy bench is designed to help kids combat isolation and bullying, encourages students to practice empathy and to invite their peers to join in play, goals which were always a priority in Jessica’s classroom. We will also donate children’s books about the concept of buddy benches for teachers to use in their classrooms.”

Clark hasn’t commented on this gesture. Nonetheless, she is receiving plenty of love from the public.

“Not surprising given her character but a classy move nevertheless,” David Eickholt of 247Sports said. “Always bigger than basketball. RIP.”

“I know this meant the world to Jess,” another person commented.

Caitlin Clark has made plenty of generous donations.

Earlier this year, Clark donated $50,000 to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent.

If we rewind to 2025, Clark awarded $22,000 grants to four Iowa charities through her foundation.

“One of my favorite things about Iowa City is the way the community is connected and how everyone supports each other,” Clark said. “It is something I felt during my time here and is important to me that I stay connected with. I am proud to be a part of each of these organization’s efforts and the meaningful impact they provide for the people of Iowa.”

Kudos to Clark for using her platform to make a real difference outside of basketball.
