The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting set for a crucial Week 3 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The Bucs are 0-2 and really want to avoid falling to the dreaded 0-3 mark.
Unfortunately, the team won’t be at full strength. We found out on Friday that Josiah Trotter and Rueben Bain Jr. will not be active this week. Trotter is dealing with a shoulder issue, while Bain has a groin injury.
Elsewhere, we found out that a veteran defender suffered an injury during warm-ups and will also be unable to play.
Let’s dive in and see who will be inactive for this crucial Week 3 tilt.
Buccaneers Week 3 Inactives

The following players will be inactive for the Buccaneers:
- OLB Rueben Bain Jr.
- LB Josiah Trotter
- DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches
- CB Ayden Garnes
- G Luke Haggard
- G Billy Schrauth
Nunez-Roches was an unexpected scratch. The veteran hurt his ankle in warm-ups and won’t have a chance to play. As a result, backup defensive linemen DeMonte Capehart and Elijah Simmons will get their first chance to play this season.
Without Bain, the team will have Al-Quadin Muhammad, Yaya Diaby, David Walker, and Anthony Nelson as the active pass rushers. Bain is still looking for his elusive first sack of the season, but he’ll have to wait at least another week.
Trotter’s loss will definitely be felt. The linebacker leads the team in tackles and is already one of the most important defenders as a rookie. Without Trotter, the team will count on Alex Anzalone, Christian Rozeboom, and SirVocea Dennis.
