Almost as quickly as he got the lead, Bubba Wallace lost it. He was spinning out after contact from an Austin Dillon push gone wrong. With only a few laps left before the race ended in regulation, Wallace and a handful of drivers found themselves wrecking.
Following pit stops at Daytona in the Duel 1 race, the field was pushing hard. There were big moves being made as drivers lined themselves up to try and win the Duel race and secure the best starting position possible.
The inside line was pushing hard. Dillon gets into the back of Bubba Wallace. Then, it was chaos.

The first caution came out after Casey Mears took out Noah Gragson as the two tried to come to pit road for the first stops. That caution led to this caution. That's how these things work, after all.
Last year, Bubba Wallace won a Duel race. This year, he couldn't get the job done. After the race restarted following Wallace's wreck, another big wreck happened on the last lap. In the end, Joey Logano won the race with Casey Mears making it as the Open car from the Duel 1 race.
Night one of racing at Daytona, and things are already getting intense. Drivers are having issues on the track. Even if there isn't much up for grabs in these Duel races, drivers are pushing and shoving as if their lives depend on it.
Bubba Wallace will take his car back to the garage and hope to get it fixed up for the Daytona 500 on Sunday. If he has a car that can handle well in the draft, Wallace will be one to watch. He's come close at Daytona before.
