Well, it didn't take long for Bryan Hodgson to win over Providence's fan base.
On March 22, Providence confirmed that Hodgson will be the school's next men's basketball coach. He boosted his stock this season in a dramatic way, leading South Florida to a 25-9 record and NCAA Tournament appearance. Although No. 11 seed USF fell short to No. 6 seed Louisville, the athletic department at Providence was more than happy to secure a deal with him.
"We are thrilled to have Bryan Hodgson join Providence College as the leader of our men's basketball program," Providence College President Fr. Kenneth Sicard, O.P. said. "Bryan brings a strong track record of leadership and a deep commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. His dedication to integrity, hard work, and competitive excellence aligns closely with the values of Providence College. I am confident that the future is bright for Friar men's basketball, and I eagerly anticipate seeing the team reach new milestones under their new leader's guidance."

Hodgson was officially introduced as Providence's head coach this Tuesday afternoon. He made a comment about his wife that's already going viral on social media.
"If you ever want to question my recruiting abilities just look at my wife Jordan," Hodgson told reporters.
Fans react to Hodgson's comment.
Most of the college basketball world approves of Hodgson's remark about his wife, granted it's not what we're used to hearing at introductory press conferences.
"Vintage Football Guy press conference quote. Love it," Big Cat of Barstool Sports said.
"Might be the best possible way of selling yourself as a recruiter," one fan commented.
"I know he was reciting this one every 5 minutes on the flight from Tampa to Providence," a second fan wrote.
"That's a bar," another fan declared.
Time will tell if Hodgson can get Providence's program back on track. For now though, fans are on his side.
