The Cleveland Browns are trading star pass rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per multiple reports.
It's a blockbuster deal that's sending multiple draft picks to the Browns, as well as pass rusher Jared Verse.
Arguably the best defensive player in the entire NFL, Garrett took home the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year Award for the second time in his career last season. He's a five-time first-team All-Pro with seven Pro Bowl nods.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M, Garrett has racked up 125.5 sacks over his nine-year NFL career up to this point.
It's a bold move for a Rams team set on winning another Super Bowl this season after bringing back quarterback Matthew Stafford on another one-year deal. Garrett gives them a dominant force on the other side of the ball, making what was already a solid defense even more difficult to play against.
The Browns had been adamant that Garrett was not on the trade block, but for a rebuilding team that's breaking in another new head coach on Todd Monken, this is clearly an offer that made sense, giving them valuable draft capital as well as a proven pass rusher in Verse.
This move will reverberate throughout the rest of the league, as other NFC contenders shudder at the idea of Garrett in a Rams uniform.
