The Cleveland Browns spent much of this offseason retooling their receiver room, using two of their early picks in the 2026 NFL Draft on KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston.
Both rookies impressed quickly once camp opened, doing enough early to win over the coaching staff and carve out real roles in an offense still figuring out its identity heading into the season.
That question of identity extended to the quarterback position too. Cleveland’s competition between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson wrapped up with Watson being named the starter for 2026, closing the book on one of camp’s bigger storylines and giving the offense a clearer direction moving forward.

With the picture at receiver and quarterback both taking shape, Cedric Tillman became the odd man out.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday morning that the Browns are releasing the veteran, a move that comes just days after Watson’s Anointment as the starter and reflects how crowded Cleveland’s receiver room has become.
Jerry Jeudy now stands as the most established name in that room, with Concepcion and Boston behind him after their strong camp showings. Isaiah Bond, Malachi Corley, Luke Floriea, Gage Larvadain, Ben Patterson, Tylan Wallace and Kole Wilson round out the rest of the depth chart.
Tillman, a 2023 third-round pick out of Tennessee, appeared in 38 games for Cleveland, catching 71 passes for 833 yards and five touchdowns.
He flashed real upside in 2024 with a career-high 339 receiving yards, but his role shrank in 2025, when he finished with just 21 catches for 270 yards and two touchdowns across 10 starts.
