One of the greatest players in Browns history is coming to the defense of former Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski after Baker Mayfield's latest comments.

Stefanski was fired by the Browns after six years with the franchise where he posted a 45-46 record in 101 games with two playoff appearances, a pair of Coach of the Year awards and back-to-back 12+ loss seasons.

The longtime Vikings assistant was quickly picked up by the Atlanta Falcons where he'll attempt to lead the organization to its first NFC South title since the 2016 Super Bowl run. But that won't be happening if Baker has anything to say about it (and he said a lot).

Baker Mayfield reacts to Kevin Stefanski article on X

In a recent piece published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, writer D. Orlando Ledbetter referred to Mayfield's tenure in Cleveland as a "failure" while citing the "dumpster fire" at quarterback Stefanski is experienced in dealing with — something the Bucs QB really took exception to.

"Failed is quite the reach pal," Baker posted to his official social media account. "Still waiting on a text/call from him after I got shipped off like a piece of garbage. Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach."

Mayfield was shipped out of Northeast Ohio after gutting through a substantial amount of injuries that negatively impacted his play. But legendary Browns O-lineman Joe Thomas believes the former No. 1 pick should take a step back and reevaluate his words.

Joe Thomas on Baker Mayfield: 'Communication is a 2-way street'

Taking to his own X account shortly after Mayfield's post went viral, Thomas jumped in to defend Stefanski and the lack of discussion between the two post- Baker's Cleveland exit.

"I could be wrong...but I've heard that communication is a 2-way street and there were no laws against you (Baker) sending Stefanski a text or calling him after you got traded🧐" the Hall of Famer stated.

Regardless of who's in the wrong, there's sure to be plenty of bad blood the next time the Bucs and Falcons line up — and this writer, personally, can't wait to see it.
