Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson have been involved in one of the most competitive quarterback battles of the NFL offseason. Sanders came into the offseason with eight games under his belt, including seven starts. On the other hand, Watson was returning from an Achilles tendon injury which forced him to miss the entire 2025 NFL season.
It was Sanders who looked the part during the initial stages of training camp, but Watson slowly and steadily clawed his way back into the competition. Watson’ strong finish to training camp earned him a start against the Chicago Bears in the Cleveland Browns’ preseason opener, and the veteran quarterback didn’t disappoint.
