Bronson Reed has addressed the viral moment involving Oba Femi on the September 7 episode of WWE RAW, explaining why he believes Femi reacted the way he did. The Vision member said the brief exchange came down to two wrestlers who both believe they should be at the top of WWE.
After The Vision overwhelmed Femi, Reed placed his foot on The Ruler’s back while standing over him. Femi immediately pushed Reed’s foot away, an unscripted reaction that quickly caught the attention of fans and reportedly sparked chatter backstage.
Speaking with “The West Sport,” Bronson Reed explained that he was simply trying to assert his position as WWE’s “top dog.” He also suggested that Femi’s reaction made sense because the former NXT Champion has the same competitive mindset.
“Well, I think you’ve got to remember like I am the top dog. I’m always going to assert dominance and that’s what I would try to do and he’s very much the same. That’s why he obviously hit my foot off like so if people have speculation about these things then go for it. Speculate but of course like both of us want to be number one and we’re going to do whatever it takes to be number one.”
Reed did not try to shut down the speculation surrounding the moment. Instead, he essentially acknowledged that there was genuine tension in the exchange, while framing it as a natural clash between two wrestlers determined to establish themselves as WWE’s biggest powerhouse.
That explanation also fits with Reed’s comments about Oba Femi before the RAW incident. During his time away from WWE, Reed said he watched RAW every week and noticed how quickly Femi had established himself as one of the company’s key stars.
“While I was away for these six months, I made sure to watch and saw the rise of Oba Femi and how much he’s become a big part of WWE. You should always be gunning for the top and if that’s what has happened in the last six months, that’s who I’m targeting.” [H/T Fightful]
For Reed, Femi’s rise made him a target rather than someone to admire from the sidelines.

Reed’s issues with Oba Femi began immediately after his return from a lengthy absence. He had been sidelined since February with a distal biceps tear and underwent surgery, missing WrestleMania 42 and SummerSlam before returning at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.
His comeback came during Femi’s match against Bron Breakker. Reed attacked Femi with a steel chair, causing the match to end in a disqualification, before he and Breakker continued the assault with multiple Tsunamis and Spears.
The following night on RAW, Femi was still not medically cleared after the attack but came to the ring anyway. He fought off The Vision before the group eventually overwhelmed him again, with Reed delivering more punishment before placing his foot on Femi.
Femi’s immediate response became the moment everyone remembered from the segment. He brushed Reed’s foot away instead of simply selling the humiliation, giving the confrontation a much more personal feel.
Femi has since been written out of action following the attacks, leaving Reed and The Vision with momentum while the two powerhouses wait for their next confrontation. Reed’s explanation has made one thing clear: when Femi returns, neither man appears willing to take a step back.
