Now that LeBron James has made his decision, NBA fans are wondering what's next for Bronny James?
ESPN's Shams Charania broke the news Friday that James is signing a two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. The 41-year-old superstar, who averaged 20.9 points and 7.2 assists per game last season, believes the 76ers offer him the best chance to win another title.
“I thought I was done when the season ended. I wasn’t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game. I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game. I still truly love this game, and I have more to give. The last few weeks have really been special. I’ve never been able to have no clue what to do and take real time to just think. I’ve had an incredible few months with all the people I love trying to figure it all out,” James wrote on social media.
“This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship. I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time. Thank you LA. Miami I’ll forever love and Northeast Ohio will always home!"

With James heading back to the Eastern Conference, it's fair to wonder if Bronny will join him. As of this moment, he remains on the Los Angeles Lakers' roster.
Well, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, there are currently no plans for Bronny to join his father in Philadelphia. Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul said Bronny and LeBron are "not a package deal."
Shelburne added that Los Angeles' coaching staff has a "fondness" for Bronny, who had his $2.3 million for next season fully guaranteed.
What would it take to get Bronny?
According to Lakers writer Khobi Price, the 76ers would need to make an enticing trade offer in order to land Bronny.
“The Lakers are more than happy to keep Bronny James. They drafted him in the second round two years ago. They developed him. They’re a fan of him. He has a lot of people who like him within the building," Price said, via Silver Screen and Roll. "It’s not going to be one of those situations where they’re just going to send Bronny to wherever LeBron goes. It would take something real for the Lakers to want to trade him.”
Barring a sudden change of heart, the Lakers seem committed to keeping Bronny on their 2026-27 roster.
