Denver Broncos enter Week 4 at 2-1, while the San Francisco 49ers are 3-0. The Broncos are riding a two-game winning streak after beating the Los Angeles Rams 30-26, while the 49ers remained unbeaten with a 36-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
However, injuries have become a major storyline for both teams heading into Sunday’s game. Denver has several players listed on its report, but only one player, outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman, is ruled out. Whereas, San Francisco must navigate multiple absences on defense.
The final injury report gives Denver the healthier roster heading into Levi’s Stadium. The Broncos will have J.K. Dobbins, Jaylen Waddle and Marvin Mims Jr. available, while the 49ers must deal with the absence of Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams on the defensive front. Let’s now look at the imbalance that could give the Broncos’ offense crucial room to operate.

Tillman is the lone Denver player ruled out. He did not practice all week because of a hamstring injury. He has recorded 10 tackles, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hits through three games, so Denver will need to replace some production on the edge.
Nik Bonitto, Jonah Elliss and Que Robinson are healthy, and Denver could elevate an outside linebacker from the practice squad to maintain its edge rotation. Johnny Walker has been mentioned as a possible option.
Marvin Mims Jr. is one of the more important returns. He has missed the last two games with a foot injury but practiced fully throughout the week. Jaylen Waddle also received a clean bill of health on the final report after dealing with a foot injury. He practiced fully from Wednesday through Friday. J.K. Dobbins likewise practiced fully despite his hip issue. That leaves Denver with its key offensive pieces available for the trip to San Francisco.

Nick Bosa is the biggest loss after the star defensive end did not practice during the week and is officially out. San Francisco will also be without Mykel Williams, leaving the 49ers without two important edge defenders. James Thompson Jr. is also out with an ankle injury.
On offense, Mike Evans’ status will be worth watching until kickoff. The veteran receiver has developed a strong connection with Brock Purdy, but a rib injury kept him out Wednesday and Thursday before he returned on a limited basis Friday. He remains a game-time decision.
The 49ers did receive positive updates regrading running back Christian McCaffrey, who practiced fully on Friday after a rest day, and Trent Williams, who also finished the week as a full participant after dealing with a neck issue and receiving some rest earlier in the week.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw’s availability could be particularly important against Denver’s running game and short-area passing attack.
