The Jacksonville Jaguars could consider trading wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. as his role in the offense shrinks.
ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reported Saturday that league executives believe Jacksonville will seriously consider moving the former first-round pick before the Nov. 10 deadline. The report does not mean a trade is imminent.
Thomas has caught nine passes for 105 yards and one touchdown. He has not recorded a reception in either of Jacksonville’s past two games, and his playing time dropped sharply against Houston.
Thomas played only 15 snaps against the Texans and did not return after halftime. His reduced role has raised questions about his fit in head coach Liam Coen’s offense, where Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers have become more prominent options.
Thomas joined Jacksonville as a first-round pick in 2024 at LSU. As a rookie, he recorded 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, showing the downfield ability that made him central to the Jaguars’ plans.
That production gives Jacksonville a reason to be careful before accepting an offer. A trade could bring draft capital, but it would mean giving up on a young receiver whose speed and potential remain valuable.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers have been mentioned as teams that could explore adding help at receiver, although no deal has been reported.

Jacksonville has previously resisted trade speculation surrounding Thomas. With the deadline approaching, the team must decide whether his reduced role is temporary or whether both sides would benefit from a fresh start.
For now, Thomas remains a Jaguar. Weeks could determine whether Jacksonville gives him another opportunity or considers offers before the deadline.
