There are a number of reasons that the Dallas Cowboys lost their game to the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, but Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is taking responsibility for one of the big ones.

The biggest complaint about that loss has been Schottenheimer’s clock management during the final 30 seconds of the game. Some of his decisions left valuable time on the clock when the Cowboys could have simply kicked the field goal as time expired, rather than leaving 7 seconds on the clock for the Ravens to rally from and kick a game-winning field goal in regulation.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Schottenheimer pledged to “be better” after his clock mismanagement.

“I hurt our chances to win that game. I’ll be better,” he said, per ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Not good enough?

Unfortunately for Schottenheimer, that pledge isn’t really good enough for some fans who are fed up with his lack of results over 20 games in charge. He’s 8-11-1 at the helm and has spent a grand total of one week with a winning record as a coach.

“We are tired of hearing ‘I’ll be better’ from the visor idiot. We want to see it already,” one user stated point-blank.

“HURT! You ARE the reason,” wrote another.

“What a loser,” a third wrote.

“Read: he won’t be better.”

At 1-2 on the season, the Cowboys don’t have a whole lot of room for error moving forward. The good news is that they have a bunch of very winnable games coming up – many of which will be in prime time.

They play the Texans on Sunday then have three straight prime time games against the Buccaneers, Packers and Eagles before taking on the Arizona Cardinals to kick off November.

With the way many of those five teams are playing, the Cowboys should be 5-3 or even 6-2 afterwards. But that’ll hinge on Schottenheimer “being better.”
