Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski will not be pitching Sunday.
The Brewers right-hander is being scratched from his scheduled start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, with Misiorowski saying that fatigue is the reason for the move, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"Fatigue would be the best word," Misiorowski said. "Nothing crazy. Just didn't bounce back. A little quick on the days off between but nothing crazy."
Misiorowski has been enjoying a breakout sophomore season with the Brewers, posting a 10-4 record and leading the league with a 1.62 earned run average and 167 strikeouts in 111 innings. The high number of innings pitched is a result of his success but has also negatively impacted his health.
The 24-year-old has already had a health scare earlier this season, having to be removed from a May 1 game against the Washington Nationals due to a hamstring cramp. Since then, the Brewers are playing it safe with Misiorowski, who received a full day of rest after throwing a complete-game shutout against the Philadelphia Phillies in June.
Sunday's start was set to be his last outing before the All-Star break. Misiorowski was already unavailable for the All-Star Game in Philadelphia, being replaced on the National League roster by Pittsburgh Pirates' Braxton Ashcraft. The fatigue-driven decision doesn’t change that fact.

The Brewers have not yet announced a replacement starter for Sunday’s game. With the second half of the season looming and Milwaukee still chasing the best record in baseball, the team will be extra cautious with Misiorowski's workload down the stretch.
