The Milwaukee Brewers have officially lined up Jacob Misiorowski to start Tuesday against the New York Mets after the All-Star break, putting the National League Cy Young frontrunner back atop the rotation.
The decision comes after Milwaukee scratched Misiorowski from his final first-half start because of arm fatigue. The Brewers opted to give the 24-year-old additional rest rather than place him on the injured list, and the extra recovery time has allowed him to resume his regular schedule.
Milwaukee also finalized its rotation for the three-game series, with Brandon Sproat scheduled to start Monday, Misiorowski taking the ball Tuesday and Logan Henderson closing the series Wednesday. The Brewers enter the second half with a 60-37 record and a nine-game lead atop the National League Central.
Misiorowski earned his second straight All-Star selection after dominating through his first 18 starts. He did not participate in the Midsummer Classic because the club prioritized his long-term health following a 103-pitch outing before the break.
The right-hander has emerged as one of baseball's most dominant starters, posting a 10-4 record with a 1.62 ERA, 167 strikeouts, a 0.76 WHIP and a .148 opponents' batting average over 111 innings. Those numbers have kept him firmly in the National League Cy Young Award conversation.

Misiorowski's return gives Milwaukee another major boost as it looks to extend its division lead and maintain one of Major League Baseball's best records heading into the stretch run.
The Brewers have relied on elite pitching throughout the season, and getting their ace back on schedule against the Mets strengthens a rotation that has been one of the biggest reasons for the club's first-place position.
