The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the most dominant teams in baseball once again in 2026, entering Friday with the best record in the league at 72-43.
This time, though, they are hoping their regular season success can finally translate into October and carry them to a World Series appearance.
The Brewers have some of the best depth in baseball, particularly in the outfield. However, that group is currently missing a key piece in right fielder Sal Frelick.
Rookie Luis Lara has filled in over the past few weeks while Frelick is on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.

Frelick's absence has been manageable considering Frelick is in the midst of a down offensive season, but the team would clearly welcome him back as soon as possible.
Fortunately, it appears he has progressed enough in his recovery to be nearly ready for a rehab assignment.
Speaking with reporters ahead of Friday's matchup with the Minnesota Twins, manager Pat Murphy revealed that Frelick is set to head out on a rehab assignment soon.
Murphy added that the plan will be for Frelick to open the assignment as a designated hitter as his arm continues to progress forward.
Getting some at-bats will likely do Frelick some good. Last year he was one of the better hitters in Milwaukee's lineup, but this year he is having the worst offensive season of his career.
Across 276 at-bats, the 26-year-old has posted a .230 batting average, .301 on-base percentage, .630 OPS, four home runs and 34 RBIs.
His defense in right field has kept him valuable even through the offensive struggles, and getting him healthy and back in the mix gives the Brewers another weapon as they push toward what they hope is a deep October run.
