Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Bradley Chubb will be seen wearing the Buffalo Bills jersey this season. Chubb joins the Bills as the team transitions to an odd-man defensive front. Surprisingly, the ninth-year veteran revealed he would miss out on a key experience as a new member of the Bills.
The Buffalo Bills demolished the old Highmark Stadium before Chubb joined the team. The stadium was the Bills' home field for 53 seasons. Meanwhile, the Bills built a new $2.2 billion facility across from the older stadium. Reflecting on that, the Bills' new linebacker spoke about not being able to play on the home side at the old Highmark Stadium.
"I'm going to miss the old Highmark Stadium. That old, grungy feeling of just old-school football. That's going to be always something that you remember coming up to Buffalo and playing them. Everybody shares the same tunnel, the locker room's not super updated, the shower's cold, even when it's cold outside. Just stuff like that."
Chubb set to take on key role in Bills' transitioning defense
The Buffalo Bills transitioned from a 4-2-5 formation to a 3-4 defense for the 2026 season. The 30-year-old linebacker is expected to play an important role in the Bills' transition to an odd-man front after signing a three-year deal with the Bills.
The ninth-year veteran has taken on a leadership role after spending most of his NFL career playing in this formation with the Broncos and Dolphins. Chubb also commented on his leadership style and stated:
"Just being me, honestly, what's got me here. I've been doing the same style of leadership since I was in college, and I feel like it's carried over. Just being the true version of myself each and every day. I feel like people respect that, especially when they see me go out there and do the things I do on the field."
Chubb continued that he has been following this leadership approach since his college days. He believes in leading by example and that trusting consistency on and off the field motivates your teammates as well. Although Chubb will miss playing a home game for the Bills at the old Highmark Stadium, he hopes for a fresh start in his first season with the team.
