Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is starting to heat up at the plate. While this will undoubtedly be his worst season in the big leagues, the past does not matter now. The Blue Jays are entering Friday’s series opener against the Kansas City Royals sitting just 0.5 games back of the final American League wild card spot.
Across Toronto’s series win over the Cleveland Guardians earlier this week, the 27-year-old six-time All-Star reached base in every game. He also recorded one home run and six RBIs, helping the Blue Jays inch closer to the postseason.
On the season his numbers are still below his usual standards, as he owns a .260 batting average, .332 on-base percentage and .689 OPS, but he has shown he can rise to the occasion as he did during last year’s run to the World Series.

As the Blue Jays prepare for an important final four weeks of the regular season, Guerrero has still found time to make moves away from the baseball diamond.
He is one of the most marketable faces in MLB and after the series against Cleveland he took to Instagram to announce a new partnership with Supacaz Baseball.
More specifically, Guerrero has become the new face of Supacaz Eyewear. The video posted showcases Guerrero in the glasses and details why they are his choice.
As the caption mentions, it is more than just a partnership, as the collaborated post also revealed that Guerrero will be getting his own signature collection available for fans to purchase.
As Guerrero makes his choice for eyewear off the field, he is also widely regarded as one of the most fashionable players in MLB, frequently showcasing his game day fits ahead of matchups.
Guerrero’s confidence off the field shows up on it, and after his walk on Thursday he was seen bat-flipping.
If Guerrero gets his edge back fully, that could be the edge that makes him look more like himself for the remainder of September and into what the Blue Jays hope is another deep October run.
