The Toronto Blue Jays shook up their roster on Monday, a day after a 7-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies cost them a three-game sweep at Citizens Bank Park Sunday night.
Toronto selected right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson to the active roster, and he will be available when the Blue Jays open a four-game series against American League East rival Boston Red Sox Monday night at Rogers Centre. Woods Richardson has struggled to a 6.40 ERA and 1.75 WHIP across 57 2/3 innings this season between stops with the Blue Jays and the Minnesota Twins, who traded him to Toronto in June.

Infielder Charles McAdoo was also recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, marking his second stint with the big league club this season. The 24-year-old has flashed patience at the plate and speed on the bases in the minors with 48 walks and 12 stolen bases in 2026.
In corresponding moves, right-hander Lazaro Estrada and utility man Davis Schneider were optioned back to Buffalo. Estrada, who missed extended time on the 60-day injured list earlier in the season, has bounced several times with Toronto and the minors since returning from the IL in June. Schneider also has moved back and forth through multiple option assignments in 2026.
Catcher Willie MacIver was designated for assignment. Toronto acquired the catcher from the Texas Rangers in April for cash considerations and placed him in Buffalo at the time.
The moves come as the Blue Jays sit at 56-63, fifth in the AL East, still managing injuries to players and finding ways to keep the lineup fresh as the club heads closer to the end of the season.
