Trey Yesavage is on the 15-day injured list for the second time in his rookie season. The 23-year-old right-hander started the year dealing with a right shoulder impingement that delayed his debut until late April.
This past Wednesday, Yesavage was officially diagnosed with a left meniscus knee injury, marking his second time being unavailable this season. He left his most recent start against the Houston Astros after recording just six outs.
When healthy, Yesavage did struggle with his command at times but was still one of the more reliable arms in the starting rotation. He posted a 3.65 ERA with 91 strikeouts across 93 2/3 innings of work, going 5-5 with a 1.142 WHIP.

Yesavage's latest setback could unfortunately be season-ending given how few weeks remain in the 2026 regular season, and Toronto is not yet a lock to make the American League playoffs.
Yesavage underwent an MRI that was unable to rule out the possibility of surgery. Blue Jays manager John Schneider provided the timeline for when a decision on whether surgery would be required when speaking with reporters ahead of Monday's series opener against the Boston Red Sox.
"Trey Yesavage is seeing a knee specialist now. Jays will know more tonight or tomorrow about potential surgery," reported Mitch Bannon of The Athletic.
If Yesavage does go down for the year, Toronto has the depth to withstand it, especially after acquiring both Jameson Taillon and Jose Soriano at the trade deadline.
It would still be disappointing to see his rookie year end this way, particularly after his remarkable rise to prominence during the 2025 postseason.
