The Toronto Blue Jays have named infielder Sean Keys their 2026 Minor League Player of the Year after the 23-year-old delivered a breakout offensive season across the organization.
Keys earned the honor after combining for 28 home runs between Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo before reaching the major leagues. His power surge helped him move quickly through the system and earn his MLB debut in June.
Keys began the season with New Hampshire, where he hit 14 home runs and posted a .993 OPS in 49 games. After his promotion to Buffalo, he continued producing at the plate, adding another 14 homers with a 1.044 OPS across 51 games.
The Blue Jays selected Keys in the fourth round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of Bucknell University. His development this season gave the organization another young position player to evaluate at the major league level.
Keys made his MLB debut on June 27 and has appeared in 21 games for Toronto. He entered Tuesday with two home runs and nine RBIs in 51 at-bats, while also contributing a sacrifice fly during Monday’s 4-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.
His award caps a season in which Keys made significant progress at multiple levels of the organization. The Blue Jays will now have the offseason to determine how his development fits into their plans for 2027.

Toronto entered Tuesday at 77-80 with five games remaining and was still in the American League Wild Card race. The Blue Jays’ playoff situation adds importance to the organization’s final games, but Keys’ emergence gives the club another young player to consider beyond the current season.
For now, the Minor League Player of the Year award recognizes a breakout campaign that took Keys from Double-A to the majors in the span of a few months.
