After missing the playoffs last season, the Miami Heat entered the offseason looking to upgrade their roster around Bam Adebayo, and they have been able to do so thus far.
Of course, Miami’s biggest move of the offseason came when the franchise acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis from the Milwaukee Bucks, though they did have to give up multiple key pieces in the deal.

Despite this, the Heat have been able to replenish their roster through free agency as they have signed Klay Thompson, Nick Richards and Tim Hardaway Jr.
While the Heat have made multiple moves to upgrade their roster this offseason, they could also look to potentially add another star to their roster ahead of the new season.

If they do decide to go this route, one player the Heat could target is Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving.
In a potential trade, the Heat could send a package of Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell and multiple first-round picks to the Mavericks in exchange for Irving.

This trade could work out well for both sides, as the Heat would upgrade their backcourt with the addition of Irving. The Mavericks would also add two key players in Wiggins and Mitchell, along with additional draft capital as they continue their rebuild.
For the Heat, acquiring Irving would be a massive boost to their backcourt and would also give them another star player to pair alongside Giannis and Adebayo.

Of course, Irving missed all of last season while recovering from a torn left ACL and he is expected to return this upcoming season, though there are questions surrounding his abilities coming off a major knee injury.
Despite this, his addition to the Heat could be a valuable one if he is able to return to his previous form before injury as he would provide Miami with an elite scorer and playmaker alongside the rest of their core.
While this trade could work out well for the Heat, the Mavericks may elect to keep Irving entering the new season, which could cause Miami to look elsewhere to bolster the franchise’s roster.
