Blockbuster Mock Trade Has Valkyries Landing Sparks' Kelsey Plum to Pair Alongside Gabby Williams

The Golden State Valkyries have been one of the top teams in the WNBA this season as they currently sit third in the standings with a 19-8 record.

For the Valkyries, they have built a solid core led by Gabby Williams and Veronica Burton that has allowed them to improve on their inaugural season last year as they have become one of the top teams across the league.

While Golden State looks as though they are going to be a championship contender this season, the franchise could also look to upgrade their roster ahead of Sunday’s trade deadline to potentially add another star to their roster.

One player who has been linked to the Valkyries ahead of the trade deadline is Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum, who may be on the move this season.

Of course, the Sparks have had a disappointing season thus far as they currently hold a 10-17 record, which has led to multiple players on their roster becoming the subject of trade rumors, including Plum.

For Plum, she is in the final year of her contract and with her future in Los Angeles in question, along with the Sparks potentially retooling their roster, the star guard may be on the move ahead of the deadline and the Valkyries could be a landing spot for her.

In a potential trade, the Valkyries could send a package of Tiffany Hayes, Kaila Charles and two future first-round picks to the Sparks in exchange for Plum.

By making this trade, Golden State would add one of the league’s top scoring guards alongside Burton and Williams, potentially boosting their championship hopes.

This season, Plum is averaging 23.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 52.7% from the field and 38.3% from three, though she has played only 12 games due to a lower left leg injury that currently has her sidelined.

Despite her current injury, the superstar guard is expected to return in the coming weeks and her addition to the Valkyries may help them challenge for their first championship in franchise history this season.
