WWE Superstar Blake Monroe made it clear that she has much bigger ambitions after her scheduled SmackDown debut against Giulia never officially got underway.
Monroe was set to make her SmackDown in-ring debut against Giulia on the latest episode of the Friday Night Show in Toronto. However, before the bell could ring, “The Glamour” attacked her opponent during her entrance and quickly turned the advertised matchup into a one-sided assault.
After sending “The Beautiful Madness” into the steel steps, Monroe brought the fight into the ring and hit her with The Neutralizer before leaving to her music.
Monroe later addressed the situation in a video posted by WWE on social media. The 28-year-old star refused to count the chaotic brawl as her official SmackDown in-ring debut.
“That’s not my debut. I didn’t wait four months getting caught up to SmackDown, and I didn’t wait nine years to make it to the WWE to have my debut like that.”
Monroe then made it clear that she believes she belongs much higher on the card. Rather than asking for another opportunity against Giulia, she named WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green as the opponent she wants next.
“I’m World Championship material. So you find Chelsea Green, you bring her to me, and then you get the glamour. Until then, get out my face.”
The comments came after Monroe had already questioned earlier on SmackDown why her match was taking place in Toronto instead of what she considered a more fitting destination such as Paris or Milan. She also insisted that she would find a way to stand out regardless of the circumstances.
Monroe has spent months building anticipation for her arrival on SmackDown following her move from NXT, but she has now made it clear that simply making her debut is not enough. She wants an opponent she believes matches her ambitions, and Green has become the first name on her list.
Whether WWE grants Monroe’s request remains to be seen. For now, Giulia has been left without an official match against Monroe, while “The Hot Mess” has unexpectedly found herself called out by one of SmackDown’s newest additions.
