Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills is coming off a strong season in which they made the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season. The organizational turnaround coincided with Allen being drafted No. 7 overall by Buffalo in the 2018 NFL Draft.
In 2025, the two-time All-Pro threw for 3,668 yards on a 69.3% completion percentage, along with 25 touchdowns. The Firebaugh High School graduate also contributed heavily in the running game, having 112 carries for 579 yards, and was third in the league with 14 rushing touchdowns. Allen has had double-digit touchdowns the last three seasons, and his 41 rushing touchdowns are second only to Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry and his 44 touchdowns.

The 2024 MVP Award winner now holds the all-time record for rushing touchdowns in a career after, in Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he passed Carolina Panthers legend Cam Newton's mark of 75. With Allen's workload, one could understand him not playing in the preseason. According to head coach Joe Brady, the four-time All-Pro will play against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday.
With the exit of Sean McDermott, who had led the team to a 98-50 regular-season record and an 8-8 postseason record, it appears Brady, who spent four seasons as the team's offensive coordinator, still wants to get acclimated to his starters and their roles.
The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov reported on the social media website X that Allen and other healthy starters will play against the Panthers in the team's preseason opener. Meirov identified coach Brady as the source.

Buffalo will open the 2026 regular season on the road at Reliant Stadium to face the Houston Texans on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
