Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen got a lot of people upset this week when he invoked Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams while talking about the lack of hype his team is getting. That remark didn't sit too well with Williams' head coach, Ben Johnson.
Coen said this week that it's easy to motivate his players because there's no hype (and therefore no pressure) on the Jaguars but tons of articles being written about Williams.
"I look at the NFL website, and see if there's anything on the Jaguars. I think I'll see 40 pictures of Caleb Williams. And nothing on us! It's beautiful," Coen said.
Naturally, Johnson was asked about Coen's comments at training camp afterwards. Johnson didn't have much to say about Coen except to say that Williams is "used to handling a lot of attention," so he's not concerned.
“We’re the number one regression candidate, so I think we’ve got plenty of motivation ourselves. We talked about Caleb in the past—he’s used to handling a lot of attention—so I’m not worried about that.”
Bears vs. Jaguars
The Bears and Jaguars both well exceeded expectations in 2025, winning their respective divisions. Chicago went 11-6 with Williams having a rock solid second year with the team, while the Jaguars went a stunning 13-4 to win their division for the fifth time in franchise history.
But despite Jacksonville having their most prolific offense in team history, they really don't seem to be getting nearly as much buzz as a lot of teams that had a worse record than them.

There's no denying that the Bears are getting pretty much all of the hype right now. Hardly a day goes by without one of the major sports networks doing a segment on his future in Chicago despite the Bears having the fourth-best record in the NFC and ninth-best record in the NFL last year.
Maybe Coen just has some sour grapes about that.
