Caleb Williams could be back as soon as this week.
The Chicago Bears star quarterback avoided a serious injury in Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Williams suffered an apparent hamstring injury on Sunday. He was down on the field, screaming in pain, before getting carted off of the field with a towel draped over his head.
NFL fans assumed the worst.
However, according to a report, Williams has avoided serious injury, and he could return a soon as Week 3 vs. Philadelphia.

FOX.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero broke the news on Monday.
“Bears QB Caleb Williams avoided any major injury to his hamstring Sunday, tests confirmed today — and the team isn’t even ruling him out for next Monday’s game against the Eagles,” he reported.
“A massive sigh of relief in Chicago.”
It’s a huge break for the Bears
The Bears would’ve been in a really tough spot if Williams were to miss any significant time under center. Chicago lost to division rival Minnesota on Sunday and has a tough schedule moving forward.
Chicago, though, could have its quarterback return as Week 3, essentially not missing any time, outside of the minutes he missed in Sunday’s loss to the Vikings.
The Bears are scheduled to take on the Eagles in Week 3 and the game will be played on Monday evening, September 28, giving their star quarterback an extra day to recover.
If the Bears want to play it safe, they can rest Williams in Week 3 and have him return for Week 4. However, the team’s worst fears have clearly been avoided, as Williams will not be missing any significant time for his hamstring injury, despite his painful and emotional reaction to the leg pain on Sunday afternoon.
The Bears are 1-1 on the year.
