The Chicago Bears agreed to trade star wide receiver D.J. Moore and a 2026 fifth-round NFL Draft pick to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday for a second-round pick in this year's draft, according to ESPN.
Moore has spent the past three years with Chicago after being drafted 24th overall in 2018 by the Carolina Panthers and playing the first five years of his career with them. In his eight seasons, Moore has hauled in 608 receptions for 8,213 yards and 41 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 510 yards and two scores on the ground.
The 28-year-old wideout helped the Bears win their first NFC North title since 2018 in the 2025 season.

While Moore joined the Bears for 2023, so did former Buffalo Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. Before that season, Edmunds, who spent the first five years of his career with the Bills, signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Bears.
In his career, Edmunds has recorded 900 total tackles, 43 tackles-for-loss, 59 pass breakups, 14 interceptions and 8.5 sacks. He made two Pro Bowls during his time with the Bills.
On Thursday, over a week after the Bears granted permission to Edmunds to seek a trade, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Chicago was releasing the two-time Pro Bowler. Courtney Cronin, also of ESPN, said that releasing Edmunds creates $15 million in cap space for the Bears.
Last season, Edmunds played 13 games for the Bears, missing four games with a groin injury. After being released, he will now become a free agent and will be eligible to sign with a new team on March 11 at 4 p.m. ET.
With the extra cap space, Chicago will be looking to reload for another postseason birth in the 2026 season.
