Bad Bunny's performance at halftime of the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will be historic for a number of reasons. As the first male Latino artist to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show — he was a guest in the 2020 show headlined by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez — Bad Bunny is expected to perform the majority of the show in Spanish.

When the Puerto Rican artist hosted "Saturday Night Live" in October, he addressed concerns about NFL fans not understanding his music. He ended his monologue with a long message in Spanish. Then in English, he said, "And if you didn't understand what I just said, you have four months to learn."

According to AP, some open-minded fans began racing to learn Bad Bunny's native language after the NFL announced him as the halftime performer. There has also been pushback, with Kid Rock recently announced as the headliner for Turning Point USA's counterprogrammed halftime show in English.

It is still on Bad Bunny's mind that come Sunday, a number of fans may not understand the lyrics to hit songs from his Grammy Award-winning album "Debi Tirar Mas Fotos" such as "Baile Inolvidable." In his official press conference before the Super Bowl on Thursday, Bad Bunny had a new request for fans instead of learning Spanish.

"I know that I told them that they had four months to learn Spanish — they don’t even have to learn Spanish," Bad Bunny told Apple Music's Zane Lowe. "It’s better if they learn to dance. There’s no better dance than the one that comes from the heart.”

The 31-year-old refused to give any specific spoilers about what fans should expect at Levi's Stadium — rumors that he could bring out Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs' girlfriend, Cardi B, during the set will have to wait. What he did emphasize is that he wants the Super Bowl halftime show to be fun, and he believes that fans do not have to know the words to have a good time.

"It’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna be easy," he said. "People only have to worry about dance."

The Super Bowl kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday. Bad Bunny's halftime show will take place after the end of the second quarter. It will be televised on NBC in English and Telemundo in Spanish and streamed on Peacock.
