Authorities are looking into whether or not the invasion of Saquon Barkley's home was part of a larger crime ring.
Barkley, who stars for the Philadelphia Eagles, was the victim of a home invasion this weekend. Barkley and his family are OK after the home invasion, which took place in Tredyffrin Township in Pennsylvania. Burglars invaded the home and fled before police got there. Thankfully, no one in Barkley's family was harmed.
"They were home, and fortunately, as you know, with any situation like this, our main concern is that the residents of that home at the time were unharmed, which they were. They were fine afterwards, obviously unsettled as anyone would be," Capt. Tyler Moyer said.
"We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident," the D.A.'s office said in a statement posted to social media. "We are asking the public to help us identify those responsible by checking any home security cameras for suspicious activity in the area around 5:00 a.m. If you saw anything unusual or have video that may assist investigators, please contact the Tredyffrin Township Police Department immediately."

In recent years, several homes of athletes have been broken into, with authorities connecting them to various crime rings. However, these robberies typically would take place in-season, when players are away at road games.

"Two years after multiple NFL stars had their residences burglarized while they weren’t home, the home of Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was invaded on Saturday while he and his family were inside," Mike Florio shared.
"In addition to trying to solve the case, the authorities will attempt to determine whether the incident is connected to any of the criminal groups that target athletes."
Moyer added that they will be looking into all different angles.
“We will look at all angles of this because we know, obviously, it’s been all over the news in the past few years about different professional athletes’ homes getting burglarized,” he told ESPN.
