Austin Reaves and his girlfriend, Jenna Barber, are taking a major relationship step at the start of the 2026-27 NBA season.
The 2026-27 NBA season is a big one for Reaves and the Lakers. LeBron James is gone, signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency. It’s officially Luka Doncic’s team. Reaves will be expected to play a major role.
Reaves, who signed a four-year, $185 million contract extension with the Lakers this offseason, is coming off a big season. He averaged 23.3 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, heading into the 2026-27 NBA regular season, he and his girlfriend, Jenna, are taking a major relationship step.
Jenna announced that the couple found a Los Angeles, California area home and is moving in together soon.
“Currently: Got a house / Graduation in Dec. / THREE more months long distance!!!!” she announced on Instagram.
Barber is currently a graduate student at the Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. She’ll be graduating in December, it appears.
Reaves, meanwhile, is already excited about the new-look Lakers.
“Trying to score on Matisse [Thybulle] and Ziaire [Williams], especially with Adou [Thiero] out there too and Walker [Kessler] on the back line is not easy,” Reaves said prior to the start of the season. “I had to deal with that all day yesterday and today, and it’s not fun. So defensively, we’re gonna be much better. Those guys compete every possession, and everybody else fills in the roles and plays the right way. So, yeah, I see how special we can be.”
The Lakers are set to open the preseason on Monday night, October 5, against the Sacramento Kings.
