Mia Bieniemy, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was allegedly shot earlier this week by a family member.
It was revealed that Bieniemy's wife was allegedly shot by their son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, on Sunday night in Virginia. She was treated for "serious injuries" stemming from gunshot wounds. According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the authorities charged Bieniemy's son with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharge of a firearm inside of a dwelling.
"Our hearts go out to Eric Bieniemy. Mia is stable, which is a plus. We all love EB, and you hate seeing those things happen," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. "We'll just see how things go. [This is] real life, you take care of that. She's a saint, one of God's good blessings. But things happen."

On Wednesday morning, "Good Morning America" shared the audio dispatch from this shooting in Virginia. You can hear the police dispatcher say, "[A] 57-year-old female reported just shot in the chest and arm, unable to breathe."
ABC also shared footage of Mia Bieniemy being carried on the sidewalk by three first responders.
What's the latest on the Bieniemy family?
The good news is that Mia Bieniemy has moved out of intensive care, according to the Chiefs.
"She’s doing great. She’s doing better and great from where she was, out of the ICU unit and making progress," Reid said. "So, we’re happy about that. EB (Eric Bieniemy) is still with her and that part’s important that that stays in place."
Elijah Zion Bieniemy, meanwhile, is being held without bond at Loudoun Adult Detention Center.
