Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream found themselves on a two-game winning streak after a 104-69 win over Brittney Griner and the Connecticut Sun on Thursday, jumping to 21-12 on the 2026 WNBA season. But on Sunday, they had a tough test as Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever came to town.
Guards Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard were the stars of the show against the Sun, each tallying 29 points for Atlanta. However, early in the second quarter, Atlanta lost one of their key pieces off the bench.
With 8:56 remaining in the second, forward Brionna Jones blocked a layup attempt by Sun forward Nell Angloma. However, Jones landed awkwardly on her left leg, forcing her to miss the rest of the game.

The Dream were quick to rule Jones out for the matchup against the Fever as well. And per coach Karl Smesko, there is no timetable for the forward to return.
Jones has already missed a majority of the 2026 WNBA season, her second in Atlanta, due to a torn right meniscus she suffered over the offseason. The former Maryland star has only appeared in nine games this year, averaging 8.2 points on 51.9% shooting, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game off the bench.
Along with Jones, the Dream also initially listed guards Jordin Canada (illness) and Te-Hina Paopao (right leg) as a game-time decision against Indiana. And an hour before tip-off, Canada was ruled out as well.
As far as the Fever go, Clark (back) and Aliyah Boston (right leg) were listed as probable, but were highly expected to play.
"Karl Smesko with some injury updates pregame: Jordin Canada will be a game time decision with an illness," ESPN's Kareem Copeland wrote on X. "Bri Jones (left leg), no timetable for her return. Te-Hina Paopao (right leg) will be a game time decision."
Following the Fever game, the Dream will be back in action on Tuesday, hitting the road to face the Las Vegas Aces at 9:00 p.m. ET.
