Former Indiana Fever player Shatori Walker-Kimbrough is going back to a familiar home.
Walker-Kimbrough signed a training camp contract with the Fever during the offseason and worked her way onto a standard WNBA deal. However, Indiana waived her on May 21, just five games into the 2026 campaign.
The one-time WNBA champion appeared in just two games for Indiana but barely contributed, as she averaged just 3.5 minutes in those two outings.
Now, Walker-Kimbrough will be able to continue her WNBA career, with the Atlanta Dream signing her to a rest-of-season contract on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old guard played for the Dream in 2025, so it won't be a major adjustment for her. She appeared in 41 games for Atlanta last season and started in one game, averaging 1.7 points per game.

However, Walker-Kimbrough is not too far removed from her career year. In 2024, she was a Sixth Player of the Year candidate with the Washington Mystics after putting up a career-best 7.5 points, along with 1.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 40 games played.
In order to make room for Walker-Kimbrough, though, Atlanta had to waive rookie
Indya Nivar, as indicated in the WNBA Transactions page. She was the 28th overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
It remains to be seen how big of a role Walker-Kimbrough will have with the Dream, but Atlanta certainly needs a boost amid its five-game losing streak. The team has now dropped to 12-9 on the season after losing only four games in their first 16 outings.
The Dream will look to get back to the win column when they host the Seattle Storm at The Gateway Center Arena on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
