Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream jumped to 22-13 on the 2026 WNBA season on Tuesday night, taking down A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces 97-82. And on Thursday, the Dream looked to make it two in a row, playing their second of a four-game West Coast road trip against Dearica Hamby and the Los Angeles Sparks.
Going into the matchup against Los Angeles, Reese had recorded 171 offensive rebounds in 34 games during her first year in Atlanta. And the former LSU Tigers star needed just two offensive rebounds against the Sparks to break the single-season record.
Sure enough, with 2:04 remaining in the second quarter, Reese grabbed an offensive rebound off of an Atlanta missed shot. This marked her second offensive rebound of the night and 173rd of the season.

In doing so, Reese now breaks her own single-season record for the most offensive rebounds with 173. The Dream forward initially broke the record during her rookie season with the Chicago Sky in 2024, when she recorded 172 offensive rebounds in 34 games as well.
Before Reese entered the league in 2024, the previous record was held by Sacramento Monarchs legend Yolanda Griffith, who recorded 162 offensive rebounds during the 2001 WNBA season. Griffith holds the next two spots as well, coming in fourth with 148 offensive rebounds in 2000 and fifth with 141 in 1999.
Behind Griffith in sixth is Reese’s Dream teammate Brionna Jones, who tallied 136 offensive rebounds last year, tying her with Courtney Paris.

Following the Sparks matchup, Reese and the Dream will continue their road trip on Saturday, facing Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury.
