It’s almost time to tip off the 2026-27 NBA season, and the best way to prepare is to snag a copy of Athlon Sports’ NBA Preview magazine.
In addition to the requisite rosters, schedules and comprehensive team previews, our annual NHL mag offers 146 pages of insight and analysis from top writers such as Marc Stein and Sam Amico. Stein provides his incisive annual “Hoops Madness” feature, a crash course in pro basketball current events from an insider’s perspective. Amico deftly breaks down the 10 biggest storylines for the upcoming season.
We’ve also tapped top beat writers, such as Jeff McDonald, Joe Mussatto and Joe Cowley to pen our team previews, providing grassroots coverage around the Association. Finally, fantasy expert Sloan Piva identifies the top fantasy draftees, sleepers, busts and breakout candidates.
Jalen Brunson of the world-champion New York Knicks won our fan vote to anchor the national magazine cover. San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyana and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum anchor the covers of our regional editions. (Click here to select your favorite cover.)
